The first stages involve working out who your target audience are and what key phrases you wish to target. A site needs to be treated differently to target UK, US or other location versions of the major search engines.
We will research how many other sites are competing for your relevant keywords and how frequently these keywords are searched for. Our aim is to find popular words or phrases that fewer other sites are targeting. These give us the best chance of getting good positions and lots of traffic.
Web Site Optimisation
Once this important stage is complete the next would be to optimise your site with the finalised search terms in mind before manually submitting to search engines.
Optimisation may involve some or all of the following depending on your website:
Adding or editing title, keywords and meta-tags.
Revising site content to better match target phrases.
Altering site coding to make it more ‘Search Engine Friendly’
Adjusting the website structure and technology to improve its ability to be indexed.
Building extra pages or mini-websites to target specific key phrases.
Suggesting, requesting and setting up incoming links from other well ranked websites
We will work with you to provide enough optimisation without damaging the functionality or usability of your website.
The optimisation required varies greatly and so is usually quoted separately following an analysis of your current website. If we are building you a new website there is no extra cost for optimisation provided it is discussed at the start of the project.
Management and Reporting
Once the campaign is running we will provide monthly reports on your current search engine position against your chosen search terms. This report will show your current position in the top search engines for your selected region and changes in position compared with the previous month.
Once a website has been listed in the main search engines we will constantly review its progress against your target terms. We will continue to tweak the optimisation to your during the campaign to continue to gain the best position possible in the search engines.
